(Vibiznews - FX) –U.S. Dollar Index today (22-02, 11:51 GMT) shows an upward movement of about + 24 pips, or about + 0.30% from opening price (00:00 GMT). The U.S. Dollar Index within bullish area at 79.27 and has moving up + 30 pips from today’s lowest .

The index has strengthened as sales of previously owned U.S. houses probably rose in January to the highest level since May 2010.

Report from National Association of Realtors may show that purchases climbed 1.1 % to a 4.66 million annual rate from a 4.61 million pace in December. Reports last week also showed positive signal as builders broke ground on more homes than forecast in January and permits also advanced.

Vibiz Consulting Analyst said today the U.S. dollar strengthened against other major currencies after moved lower yesterday, showing a consolidation pattern. The index may rise in limited range today.

Other encouraging data shows the jobless rate fell in January to a three-year low of 8.3%, and payrolls rose by 243,000 workers. Employment growth has accelerated in each of the past three months.
